Question 1b: Media Language and Audience

We have now started to look question 1b in section A of the exam. We looked at how media language attracts different target audiences. With this in mind I have been thinking how I will use props to attract my target audience.

I will use props related to everyday lives of the target audience, 5-11 mainstreamers. when I think of the target audience it connotes "Education". I will use this idea to to attract the target audience by using props like a school and props within it like tables, chairs and uniform.
Using these props will help the Childrens TV Drama relate to the target audience as its part of their lives.

  1. Aaron, at present your research is minimal and the planning (except gaining permission fromparent to use the child actor) is nearly non-existent.

I do think that by now you would have moodboard, detailed shotlist, storyboard, time plan and schedule. You are now most of the way through the time plan and you still don't even have one.

Have underestimated what is required for an A2 blog?

Another issue is the almost non-existence of course terminology (would you have to do this course in order to write this blog?)

Seriously.... I need you to consider what kind of grade you are hoping to get, consult the material you have been given and put some real work into this.

    Initial Assessment:
At this point your research and planning is /Basic/

Based on the comments above, which of these areas do you think you could improve on?

research into similar products and a potential target audience.

organisation of actors, locations, costumes or props.

work on shotlists, layouts, drafting, scripting or storyboarding.

    Time management.

level of care in the presentation of the research and planning.

skill in the use of digital technology or ICT in the presentation.

    communication skills.
